Bienvenue en France campaign officially launched in Kenya
The Bienvenue En France campaign has officially been launched in Kenya and is here to help Kenyan students select a good university in France for their higher education.
Wednesday 4th December 2019 marked the date when the Bienvenue en France campaign was officially launched in Kenya. The aim of this campaign is to promote higher education in France by advising students about the excellence of French educational institutions and their courses globally.
The campaign was initially inaugurated in 2016 and has 3 main purposes;
1. Promote higher education opportunities in France across Kenya.
2. Accompany students to ensure that they can find a program closely suited to their needs, plans, and dreams.
3. Provide students with advice on how to apply for a scholarship.
The launch was held at the Alliance Française auditorium and was attended by over 100 guests; most being students, members of universities that had partnered with French universities and alumni who shared their experiences about studying in France, praising the excellence of the French education system and culture and explaining to the audience how studying in France helped them identify their passions and grow career-wise.
Mrs. Kim Ramoneda, The Deputy Head of Mission for the Embassy of France in Kenya, was one of the guests who graced the occasion and gave the opening speech allowing a number of other guests to speak right after.
The speakers who were picked to attend the event were specifically chosen for either their partnership with French universities or their experiences of studying in France.
The Kenyan universities that were present were Strathmore University who have partnered with SciencesPo for dual degrees in humanities and social sciences; Dedan Kimathi University and the University of Franche-Comte’- France which is a partnership that offers a double-degree collaboration at master’s level; and the Africa Digital Media Institute(ADMI) who have partnered with RUBIKA; one of the world’s leading creative technology institutions.
One of the many alumni who attended the function was chef cuisinier, Mrs. Rose Soula, a Ferrandi Paris graduate who spoke about how studying in France made her realize her dreams.
After various successful, informative presentations by parties that attended the launch, the function came to a close and a concert was held right after at the Alliance Française garden where there were live music performances by Kenyan music bands and Alliance Française students.
There were also various activities that students could indulge in such as the watching of videos taken by students studying in France, expressing why they feel the country is the best for higher education. An experience of virtual reality which allowed guests to visit various French cities and the different experiences they had to offer was also available. Ipads were at the deposition of the students who wanted to take the réalise ton rêve test to find out what kind of students they are.
